Whew! I can't believe today is the last day of November.... guess I'm over a month behind.....
Better late than never....
Here is the costume that I made for my 3 year old for Halloween.
It was quite an accomplishment for me to finish, I have not sewn since high school home economics and the sewing machine just would not cooperate.
Thanks to an early Christmas present one part was solved!
And the project began....
K had decided she wanted to be an Orca - that is what watching Diego will get you...
Here is starting to layout the teeth.
It seemed pretty easy.....
But, alas... I ended up undoing everything and making them smaller.... not sure if I have a photo of that later....
Here are the oversized Orca teeth.
Well, I thought I had taken more photos... but I guess you'll just have to settle for some finished ones...
As you can see it still needed a little altering.... the tail I tied up with fishing line. It lasted until the last 2 blocks of the night. And I had to pin the sleeves up because the smallest hoodie I could find was a Men's Small.
This was pretty funny, when K realized I had done something different with the tail... she was looking for it.
She was very happy with her costume. One house tried to say she was a Killer Whale & she sternly told them "NO - I am an Orca."
Daddy and K did a lot of walking and we are still eating on the Halloween candy a month later....
Here is where I found the idea that helped me create this:

And now I am on the look-out for hoodies for the kid's in different colors and sizes.... we could have monkeys, dogs, cows, etc for future Halloweens.
