I am a total craft-a-holic.... I see something and think "I can do that"
and of course I try.
Well, I saw this one on Facebook.
I watched her video, it was in a foreign language but I was able to translate her actions.
So here is my version.....
Gathering the supplies:
I purchased most of the supplies at JoAnn Crafts:
Pinecones, Fake snow, Glue gun, Candles, White craft paint, E6000 glue
Red Cardstock - Close to My Heart
20 oz Wine glasses - Dollar Tree (I'm thinking I need to purchase more of these ;)
First up....
Use your wine glass and trace the circle on the red card stock to fit the top and then cut them out.
Paint your pinecones with some white paint.
Once dry, glue your pine cones to the center of your red card stock circle.
Fill your wine glasses with a bit of fake snow.
Apply a layer of glue to rim of wine glass all around.
Carefully, set your pine cone circle on the top of the glass and let it set.
FYI: At first I tried the hot glue, it did not seem to hold & set well enough so I made another run to the craft store and picked up some E6000, twine and a few silver bells.
Here is the first go around before I re-glued them.
I didn't care for the way the hot glue held or the bit of red that showed at the bottom, so I added a bit of personal touch to them.
Since the hot glue really didn't hold that well, I was able to pop the card stock off and put on a liberal amount of E6000, then stuck it back down.
I found some packages of red twine with bows for wrapping packaged at JoAnn crafts, which turned out to be perfect.
Added a couple silver bells and this completely hid the bits of red card stock peeking out, liberal E6000 I applied and any other blemishes.
I felt that this help up well enough to give them as gifts without feeling like it would fall apart.

For me these made a perfect "Ain't that a Shame" handcrafted gift exchange I was invited to and a perfect teacher gift.
I also kept a set for myself and can add them to my Winter decor.
If only they were easier to ship without fear of them getting broken and I know I have several friends that would enjoy them as well.
Until next time!
Get your craft on!
