Our trip to the KC zoo was a success and a million other people thought so too. Well, maybe not that many, but there were a lot of people in attendance and even so we were not too crowded walking through this huge zoo. The polar bear exhibit just opened a few weeks ago & of course it is very popular. I was amazed. I think I love going to the zoo more than anyone I'm with.
My only regret is that I didn't remember to have our picture taken in front of the polar bear statue, we would have looked like miniatures. Just look at the picture on the right and the size of the bear's paw in relation to the kid's head. WOW!
This large fella was swimming lap after lap when we got in line to see him. Even though there was a line, I was surprised at how fast it moved to get up close & personal. He would swim out around a rock, then dive down to the bottom & come up in the corner of the glass & push off with his feet to do a back flip, over and over again. I could have stood there for a lot longer & had lots more pictures of him. But, then I wouldn't have gotten to see all the other creatures that we did.
It was a great trip to the zoo and K & I are planning our return trip to see the other half & let her run around in the Kids zone more. K loved the fact that they had aquariums full of frogs and creatures right there at her eye level. She was one tired toddler by the end of the day & didn't even make it back to the car before she was snoozing.
A must see if you are in the area!
