Something else I saw that I wanted to start this year was Salt Dough Ornaments.
Now, I remember making these when I was little and in fact I still have some of the ones I created as a child. If I find them as I am putting the decorations away I'll post a picture.
My idea for this year turned from Ornaments into Keepsakes as I quickly realized that little hand and foot prints are a bit big to make into ornaments. My intention is to get an ornament tree and then hang the kid's creations from them each year, eventually placing them in their keepsake boxes.

Katriel holding the recipe for me.
I added a little bit of cinnamon to get the brown color & make them smell yummy.
James lending me his foot.
Helping Katriel roll out the dough.
Katriel loved playing in the flour. She kept saying, "Frosty the Snowman". Maybe next year we'll have to make a snowman ornament.
And our finished product.
Now to go pick up some sort of tub for a keepsake box and start filling it with things the kids make.
My husband was a little disappointed when he came up from the basement because he smelled these & thought I'd made cinnamon rolls.
Maybe next year!
