As I was shopping in Walmart the other day I happened on a Valentine's banner that I knew I could "lift" the idea off of.....
Here is the original banner:

It's cute, but I thought with my cartridges I could do better....
So I started Friday morning....
You can see my coffee cup....
I had originally planned on just using the Cricut Expression but found that I wanted to customize the designs a bit, so I hooked up the laptop with the Cricut Design Studio on it and pulled out my Cricut Cartridges.
Here are my two little helpers....
Unfortunately, for K, since I was using the Design Studio she didn't get to push the Cut button, but she did get to Loan and Unload the paper.
She was happy for most of the morning...
Here she is with her own little lady bug.... I quickly found out that if I was making one, I may as well cut 2 out because she would want one for her room.
It did take me several hours but I was able to hang it up after lunchtime.
And this 2nd one was created in the process too... As I was using the books to design with the cartridges I would see some of the accessories for the little animals and be inspired to cut just a few more.
And of course I needed a banner that said Happy Valentine's Day.
Really, when I started thinking about Valentine's Day crafts I did not anticipate all that I would be doing. But, it has been fun and everything can be saved for next year.
The kid's love seeing all the decorations go up around the house and helping to create some of them.
The supplies I used are:
Create-A-Critter Cricut cartridge
George Cricut cartridge
Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge
Planting Schoolbook Cricut cartridge
A bunch of paper I had on hand
Cricut Designs Studio software
and my new Cricut Expression.
I think it turned out cuter than the one I saw in Walmart.... however, it is worth a whole lot more than $2.97 and it took a whole lot more effort.
But, I loved creating it.
