So recently I have acquired some white cubes for organizing my scrapbook supplies.
I haven't really had much space to have my supplies out & with 3 little kids I have to be careful what I leave out.
But, I was preparing for a retreat and didn't want to start hauling all my stuff out of the storage closet while I was getting ready for my long weekend either.
I don't know about the rest of you, but when I organize & de-clutter, it seems I have to make a mess to solve one. And then sometimes I only get as far as making a mess..... oops!
So this 18 gallon tote is what my paper has been living in.
Every time I had a project I would haul this baby out of the closet and then it will just hang out & be in the way while I'm completing the project and sometimes long after.
First I had to sort all the paper.
I've come to realize that there are some types of paper that work better with the cutting machines than others.
I've come to realize that there are some types of paper that work better with the cutting machines than others.
Smooth card stock is the best while textured card stock can be more difficult to get clean cuts out of.
(Don't mind the other table clutter - that's normal for my house.... a flat surface collects things fast!)
So the sorting begins....
And this is where everything was set to go. Now, I acquired 16 of these awesome cubes, but I don't have the space to set them all up here, right now. Someday in my dreams I will have a craft room & can arrange the cubes with a desktop area for crafting.
I do have 4 more like this on the other side of the buffet, (another flat surface) that is housing the kid's craft supplies, you can just barely see the back corner on the left of the top cube.
And here is the start of my organization....
I realized that I did not have near as much paper as I thought I did.
I have been trying to work through the older card stock that I have before I buy new stuff....
but, sometimes it's just hard not to match the colors just perfect that you want on a particular project.
Not all reds are the same red :)
Now, my paper is still out of the reach of little ones (hopefully) and I can see what I have to make those projects a little bit easier.
Do you have a space to organize in? How do you organize your supplies?
Hope you get a chance to be creative this week!
Enjoy!
