Earlier this week, I mentioned my first goal - a Cleaning schedule....
another goal on my list is to try to do a few personal layouts a month to keep up with the year 2013, in the hopes that at the end I can print a book and it will be close to the time frame of when the photos were taken.
Just to give you an idea.... I am currently still working on the second half of 2010 book. I am into December (I think) and just need some time to finish it off.....
There are many reasons for this:
- I focus a lot of my "spare" time on CT work ... which I enjoy & helps me out of my creative box
- I am rather picky when it comes to my "personal" books and the way the pages are designed
- I love photos and almost hate to leave any out, which in turn makes the designing even more challenging.
Primarily, I work on my "personal" book when I get the chance to go to a crop - the past year has seen only a few of these occasions with our move & the ensuing changes.
So I am going to strive to try to "keep up" in 2013.
I love this phrase and someday will own the shirt (maybe the next sale):

In the past several years in digi-land, I have seen many different designers start P365/P52 kits, templates, collaborations, etc.
I have not felt I had the discipline to complete one of these projects.
However, I have had several thoughts on this the past week....
I was first inspired when I saw Connie Prince's Project January 2013 Mega Stash release at the end of December.
I debated... I hemmed & hawed.... I hopped on one foot and then I thought " Awe just go for it".
I also purchased the Quickpages that match....
Now... please note: I am not on Connie Prince's CT team (oh how I dream to be), but, I do have a collection of her designs - she even has her own folder in my digi-stash because I have purchased quite a few of her kits.
I am amazed, pretty much weekly at her designs and the awesome kits she creates. Her CT is awesome & is always making freebies to match her kits....
Ok - enough about that... if you want more information check out her blog
(My computer remembers her always because I am a regular reader)
or check out her FB page
Hint: she is the Daily Download Designer this month at Gingerscraps & as always it will be a great kit.
And, if you sign up for her newsletter there are always freebies & coupons. Love, Love, Love!
Ok, back on track....
I was inspired when I saw this Mega Stash hit the market....
I typically am pretty picky when I buy digi-scrap supplies... this one popped at me and got me thinking.
First, I have never been a fan of Quickpages - did you read that never a fan....
No offense to the people who design them, especially since I've designed a few as freebies...
However, like I said before... I am just picky.
I like things to be placed where I want them & things just so.
I cannot say for sure, but this may be the first time I have actually bought a set of Quickpages.
But, again I was inspired.
My thoughts as I kicked this around were that.... I liked this set, it was already 4 pages that I could just pick photos for and then I would have at least 4 pages a month that I could have done for January 2013. Wahoo! I liked that idea.

They may not be the way I would "design" a page - but you know what...
it may be years... (yes, years) before I get to design my own personal books the way I want them.
You know, like when all 3 kids are in school and I have nothing to do (ha, ha).
(Backstory: My oldest - K - will be 4 in April, J turned 1 in August and baby #3 - Elayna is due at the end of April/beginning of May)
It will be years :-)
I have yet to do anything with the kit or Quickpages, but it has got the wheels turning and it's only the beginning of January I still need to get some photos.
Now, this morning I was looking into a P365/P52 project.
Like I said before, I did not think I have the discipline to keep this up.
For those that don't know...
P365 usually is trying to document the year with a photo a day.... I would probably get a pretty good start and then blah..... it wouldn't work. I do get my camera out on a regular basis and I actually download my photos from it on a regular basis, but I can't say that I have it out everyday.
P52 is documenting your year on a weekly basis. I was thinking about this and it might be possible. And that would mean there would be 52 layouts. That is not too bad when you think about it for a year-in-review book.
Usually, when I print a book it's about 100 pages..... so, it would be downsizing, but I can always go back and do another book later. :-)
So this is where my next goal is headed and I am really going to work on it. Get these kiddos down on some photo paper instead of stored in my computer as jpegs.
I hope I have encouraged some of you to also think about this:
"Mamma's don't let your babies grow up to be jpegs."
Have a great day!
